Wisconsin Historical Society Museum Pharmacy
View of the pharmacy display at the Wisconsin Historical Society Museum. This installation with furnishings, equipment, and other stock supplies found in a druggist came from stores around Wisconsin. Three Certificates issued by the Wisconsin State Board of Pharmacy (one in 1911 for Charles LeComte in Green Bay) are hanging on the wall over a bookcase of publications on pharmacopeia. Several cabinets and wall shelves hold labelled glass jars of chemical ingredients used in making medicines. An incomplete pharmaceutical set up for distillation and steam (manufactured by F.A. Wolff and Sohne in Heilbronn) is standing in the corner; the distillation column is missing spouts on the two outlets at its base and a crankshaft for pulleys and a funnel at its top. Other objects used to produce medicines like mortars and pestles are also exhibited. An advertisement for "Dr. Twitchell's Excelsior Troches for Diptheria, Coughs, Hoarseness, Colds, Sore Throat, Catarrh, and Influenza" is tacked to the wall. |
