Findorff Construction Scene

Construction site of the Wisconsin Power and Light Co. Office Building & Bus Station. The address of the bus station was 122 West Washington Avenue, but the entrance was on North Fairchild Street. A sign on the scaffold reads, Wisconsin Power and Light Co. Office Building & Bus Station, J.H. Findorff & Son Builders, Law, Law & Potter, Archts." The tall building was the Wisconsin Power & Light Building, bought in 1970 by the Hovde Properties. On the left is Arcade Tailors and Cleaners with their trucks parked in front. In the background is the Hotel Loraine, currently condominiums. |
