Gisholt Machine Company Railroad Yard
View across railroad tracks towards the loading platform at the first machine works plant of the Gisholt Machine Company located at the 1400 block of East Mifflin and North Dickinson. One railroad car for the "Chicago and North-Western Railway" is standing on the tracks adjacent to a warehouse loading dock, where there is a large crate. The car has chalk marks to indicate routing, contents, or other instructions. A sign on the top of the warehouse designates the manufacturing company and its signature product "Turret Lathes." The negative for this photograph has been retouched, particularly noticeable in the lamppost, window frames and railroad tracks. |
