Gisholt Metal Worker #3
Portrait of two Gisholt laborers. One man is in profile and the other is facing front. They are wearing work aprons, suspenders, boots and brimmed hats. Taken outdoors before a white sweep, they are standing on opposite sides of the anvil placed on a wooden platform. The man on the right is holding a smaller hammer to demonstrate pounding a white-hot metal band into shape, while the man on the left is holding the band in place with a sledgehammer in one hand and tongs held in the other hand. |
