Gisholt Metal Worker #1
Straight-on standing portrait of a Gisholt laborer in work apron, suspenders, boots and brimmed hat. Taken outdoors before a white sweep, he is standing with his arms at his side behind an anvil placed on a wooden platform. An upside-down sledgehammer rests against the anvil. There are five metal bars (painted white to simulate hot metal) lined up on the anvil for forging. |
