New Ranger Station
One man is working on a ladder near the side door of a one and one half story, masonry block building with five garage bays. There are two men on the right, with one of the men carrying a shovel, where forms have been built for the driveway. A sign near the front door reads: "USA WORK WPA." A description on the reverse of the photograph reads: "Ranger station and garage built by the WPA at Conover. It is one of 21 similar buildings under construction by the WPA in forest protection districts to provide convenient office headquarters for forest rangers and adequate storage space for tools, trucks, and fire-fighting equipment." |
