Southern Port
The funnels (smokestacks) of two large steamships are visible over warehouse buildings on a pier of a southern American port. Both ships have nautical flags flying and lifeboats are seen over the roof of the building. The ship on the left has a light-colored star painted on each funnel. Three tugboats are moored on the near side of the pier. Two men wearing suits and hats are sitting on a low wall in the foreground, left. One of the men, who is smoking a pipe, is looking over his shoulder at the photographer. There are cars parked along the pier. A sign painted on the building at left advertises: "Passenger & Freight Service on American Flag Steamers. Cuba — Dominican Republic Mexico — Puerto Rico." |
