Old Wade House; Upstairs Sitting Room
Color postcard of the upstairs parlor, with two women wearing period dress sitting in chairs and reading. Text on reverse reads: "UPSTAIRS SITTING ROOM, OLD WADE HOUSE, GREENBUSH, WISCONSIN. After Sylvanus Wade opened his inn in 1851, it quickly became known as 'The best on the road.' In this upstairs sitting room, many a guest, especially the womenfolk, whiled away the evening hours. The men were probably in the tap room." |
