Presidential Political Campaign Buttons
Framed assortment of campaign buttons for Bill Clinton and running mate Al Gore, and George H.W. Bush and running mate Dan Quayle. One button features Clinton playing his saxophone, while another states: "Re-elect Barbara Millie and George too." Several of the buttons speak to specific groups, with independent truckers and country music fans supporting Bush, and teamsters and the graphic communications international union supporting Clinton. Two of the more interesting buttons include one which reads: "But I Didn't Inhale!," a reference to Clinton's discussion of the one time he claimed he experimented with marijuana, and another which reads: "I Have, Have Not, Had An Affair With Bill Clinton," referencing allegations of his affair with Gennifer Flowers. |
