The Crystal House was Keck and Keck Project #183 in 1934. This project was done for the second year of the Chicago World's Fair, named "The Century of Progress." The Crystal House was built with glass walls suspended within an external structural steel cage. Fred Keck considered this building a candidate for prefabricated construction and estimated that the house could be built for $3,500 each if production runs would exceed 10,000 units.
