Champion Shagbark Hickory
A specimen of Carya ovata judged in 1979 to be the largest example of the species in Wisconsin. The tree stands on the Blackhawk Country Club golf course in Madison. There is a stone with a plaque at the base of the tree, and an irrigation sprinkler head in the lawn in front of it. |
