Making First Dial Telephone Call in Mazomanie
Mazomanie Village President Theodore R. King, seated at a roll top desk, dials the first telephone call to be handled through the Wisconsin Telephone Company's new dial central office in Mazomanie. Witnessing the historic event are T.J. Murphy, standing at left, Madison district manager for the Wisconsin Telephone Company, and Frank Lashway, prominent resident of Mazomanie who served as the company's agent in Mazomanie for many years before retiring a few years previous to this date. This telephone call was received by telephone company Mazomanie agent Charles T. Davies at Davies & Son Store. |
