Stuart's Valentine
A commercially printed Valentine's Day card and two photographs are mounted on an album page decorated with hand-painted daisies. The card, labeled "The First Valentine, Feb. 14, 1901," features a cherub, goose and humorous verse. It is marked "Ernest Nister, London, Printed in Bavaria." In both photographs, Stuart Fargo, age three years, is sitting on a tricycle. He is wearing a dress and long dark stockings. |
