Proposed Lawson Airline System of the U.S.A.
Map outlining Alfred Lawson's plan for airmail delivery routes across the United States, including several stops in Wisconsin. The accompanying text reads: "Alfred W. Lawson who designed and navigated the first Airliner and who during the war invented the trans-oceanic float system for the Allied governments, has outlined a great system of aerial highways which he hopes to establish throughout the United States just as quickly as the Lawson Airplane Company of Milwaukee, Wis. can manufacture Airliners for this service. The first line to be put into operation will be between New York and San Francisco this summer." |
