Map or Atlas
A New Map of the Cherokee Nation: Map with the Names of the Towns & Rivers They are Situated on. No. Lat. from 34 to 36 ́

Map showing the towns, mountains, valleys, corn fields, and rivers of a portion of the Cherokee Nation. A few annotations on the map explain the land and rivers. Trees and a rolling hill decorates the title cartouche. Kitchin engraved his map from a Native American draft of the region. It is accompanied by two pages of text, which describe the expedition of Governor Lyttelton of South Carolina against the Cherokee Nation, and the resulting treaty which supposedly led to an alliance between the Cherokees and English against the French. |
