A Map of Virginia According to Captain Iohn Smith's Map Published anno 1606: Also of the Adjacent Country Called by the Dutch Niew Nederlant, anno 1630
Map of the Chesapeake Bay region and surrounding areas, with north oriented towards the right. A few forts, rivers, and bays are labeled, as are the regions according to a map by John Smith and maps by the Dutch in the seventeenth century. An area of land consisting of modern Delaware and parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is bordered by a dotted line and marked by letters. Except for a decorative compass rose, the map is void of ornamentation. |
