Map or Atlas
A Map of New England & Ye Country Adjacent: Extending Northward to Quebec, & Westward to Niagara, on Lake Ontario; Shewing Gen. Shirley and Gen. Johnson's Routs, & Many Places Omitted in Other Maps
Map of New England, with three inset maps of Fort Oswego, Fort du Quesne, and Fort Frederick. It shows colonies, a few cities, forts (marked as French or English), and land of the Iroquois, rivers, and lakes. The route of General Shirley and General Johnson are shown and labeled, though while an annotation highlights Johnson's defeat of the French near Crown Point, Shirley's loss near Fort Oswego makes not such appearance. The title cartouche sits in the lower right corner, decorated with trees while a ship sails behind it. |
