Fish Widow
Pen and ink drawing of a woman with a basket of fish balanced on her head. Done in angular, geometric abstraction. Background of block pattern, topped with pointed "shards' and finished with hatching. Woman is seen from upper torso, with one arm raised to steady the basket of two fish. She wears a head cloth that falls down her back, a necklace, and a sleeveless dress. There is a cryptic design of straight and curved lines with dots. Title at bottom: "Fish Widow" and signed "Sid." |
