Sebastes Marmoratus
A hand-colored lithograph, made from drawings by Hamilton Patterson, Perry Expedition draftsman, of two colorful fish. Both are identified as Sebastes (synonymous with Sebastiscus) marmoratus, also known as rockfish or false kelpfish. These specimens were collected near Shimoda, Japan. |
