"Monumental Oriental Head"
Large concrete-cast sculpture painted red and titled "Monumental Oriental Head" of a Cambodian-styled Buddha with heavily textured light-colored hair and topknot. With dimensions of 110 x 45 x 78 inches, it sits on a thick base ornamented with round Zodiac symbols in Sid's backyard. A group of molded owls surround the space in front. On the ground before the sculpture is a flat goose shape, wings outstretched, on a bed of gravel. Part of a white lantern and torii gate appear are on the left, and the tea house is in the background on the right. A Madison-Kipp Corporation building is in the far background. |
