Astrological Clock in Sid's Kitchen
Non-functioning clock on the wall of Sid's kitchen. The clock consists 12 ceramic plates denoting each hour in Romain numerals and decorated with neoclassical figures, Germanic folklore and Haida-like fish. The plates form a clock face encircling an inner bas-relief of the sun. Radiating from the sun to the numerals are two concentric circles with brightly painted symbols of the Zodiac. The entire piece is mounted on a square plywood board with Greco-Roman figures painted in three of the four corners, the fourth having a floral design. |
