Caption attached to the photograph reads: "OSCAR NIGHT IN HOLLYWOOD - Not for nothing did Paramount Designer Edith Head win those six Oscars for costume design. Here's her costliest creation yet - commissioned by Tony Curtis as a gift to be worn by his wife, Janet Leigh, April 4 when NBC covers "Oscar Night in Hollywood" starting at 7 PM (PST). Crocheted to chiffon dyed Janet's skin tone are 186,000 imported silver-lined bugle beads. Work on the gown began six months ago, and it weighs 20 pounds." (sic) |
