Map or Atlas
A Map of South Carolina and a Part of Georgia: Containing the Whole Sea-Coast; All the Islands, Inlets, Rivers, Creeks, Parishes, Townships, Boroughs, Roads, and Bridges

This map shows the townships, parishes, cities, towns, plantations, lakes, rivers, swamps, and roads near the coast of South Carolina and Georgia. Emphasis is placed on the rivers and coastlines, and the depths are measured in soundings. Two charts at the bottom of the map list the names of landowners and their locations. The cartouche consists of an ornately illustrated plantation scene of slaves working near a thatched hut under palm trees and grape vines. |
