Map or Atlas
A New and Accurate Map of Virginia Wherein Most of the Counties are Laid Down from Actual Surveys: With a Concise Account of the Number of Inhabitants, the Trade, Soil, and Produce of that Province
The south west sheet of a four sheet map of Virginia, showing the counties, mountains, rivers, court houses, a few cities, and mills. A few Plantations are also included in the eastern portion of the map, but all the land west of the Alleghenies Mountains is left bare save for the names of rivers. At the bottom sits a length of text, half cut off, entitled "A Concise Account of the Number of Inhabitants, the Trade, Soil, and Produce of Virginia." The portion of the text visible on this sheet describes the probable number of inhabitants, including white men, women, children, and slaves, and the average monetary value of a slave. It then describes the principal crops of Virginia before the text is cut off. |
