Card on Unrequited Love and Loss
Pen-and-ink drawing of an eye with a single tear superimposed on a doily heart decorated with stars. Piercing the heart from top to bottom is a sword. Two texts bubbles on either end of the sword include Sid's poem: at the hilt, "There exists no cure for a heart wounded with the sword of separation," and at the blade tip, "The mind has a thousand eyes, and the heart but one, yet the light of a whole life dies, if its love is done." The sentiment of loss is softened by the floral background. |
