Map or Atlas
A New General Chart of the Atlantic or Western Ocean and Adjacent Seas
One half of a four sheet nautical chart, showing the coastlines of the north-west hemisphere. The interior lands are left bare, even of basic features such as the Great Lakes, but coastal cities and rivers, islands, and some nautical features (such as the Great Bank of Newfoundland) are all labeled. The coast of the Gulf of Mexico and North America also include depth measurements. An inset map of the Hudson Bay sits in the top left. Small manuscript annotations in red correct or label place names. |
