The newly crowned beauty queens and attendants from St. Croix Falls and neighboring Taylors Falls stand with Willis Erickson (right), president of the Polk County Historical Society and master of ceremonies, at the dedication of The Battle of St. Croix Falls historical marker. Ruth Ann Peterson, Queen Margaret Thomas, and Barbara Larson, from St. Croix Falls, are standing on the left, while the girls from Taylors Falls, Julie Olson, Queen Christine Johnson, and Julie Vitalis are standing on the right next to Erickson.
