Map of the Golf of Mexico and surrounding countries from the Great Lakes down to the northern most parts of South America. L'Isle labels cities, towns, and various geographical features. The territory of Florida is shown as extending from modern Florida to Texas, and the territories of England and some Native American groups are outlined or labeled. Lake Michigan is referred to as Lake Illinois. The border of the scale and title cartouche are decorated, the scale cartouche with scrolls, and the title cartouche with depictions of Native Americans, produce, an alligator, and bows and arrows.
DESCRIPTION
