Postcard
Construction of the Fourth Capitol Tower
Photographic postcard of the construction of the fourth Wisconsin State Capitol building. The ironwork tower is in the center of what would become the rotunda. People are in the foreground, and one man is working with a team of horses. The postcard is addressed to Mrs. E.W. Hamilton of Plainfield. Caption reads: "This was taken about a month ago and of course it looks some different here now, as we have a lot of iron set up and the tower is higher now. However I have had some large ones taken as it looks now and will send you one if they turn out all right. Was not home Sunday but will probably go home next Sunday. Yours with love, Chas." |
