Bird's-Eye View of Sauk City

Sauk City is the oldest incorporated village in Wisconsin (incorporated in 1854) and also has the oldest organized volunteer fire department in the state, which was installed that same year. This 1870s birds eye view of Sauk City depicts street names and street layouts, houses, trees, a river and a bridge. A reference key at the bottom of the map shows the location of the city's public school, Turner Hall, Steamboat Land, and churches (Catholic, Lutheran and Free German Congregational). The view of the map is northeast. |
