Wisconsin Turnpike Commission Toll Road Route
| This set of 32 maps and an index show the (then) proposed route of the Wisconsin Turnpike. The index shows the entire route of the turnpike, and the major cities it runs through, as well as assign a number to each of the maps. The maps themselves show the turnpike in read, other major roads, cities, lakes and rivers, and topography through contours and spot heights. Some of the maps have a block of text on the reverse side labeled "The Topographic Maps of the United States" written by the director of the United States Geological Survey which describes the maps and includes an index of standard symbols used within them. |
