Iowa Monument

A man is sitting on a headstone near the Iowa monument at the Andersonville National Cemetery. He is holding an umbrella in his right hand, and his hat and coat in his left. The New Jersey monument is toward the left; other monuments are visible in the background. The dark pedestal of the Iowa monument, which supports a statue of a weeping woman, is made of red granite quarried in Montello, Wisconsin. |
