Piper Brothers Bakers and Grocers
View across intersection towards the Piper Brothers Bakers and Grocers shop on the corner of Pinckney and Mifflin Streets. Other stores on that block, from the left, are Printing, Capitol Alleys and Billiards, and the Madison Federation of Labor. The Piper Brothers shop has a large electric sign advertising "Big Jo Flour." In front of Piper's is a "News Stand" on the sidewalk, and a large pole with an elevated sign for the streetcar that reads: "Wingra Park, West Main, Johnson St. Cars Stop Here." A storefront on the right reads: "Crescent." Numerous men and women are walking on the sidewalks and crossing the streets. There are trucks and horse-drawn vehicles parked at the curbs. |
