Bicyclist on the Rustic Bridge
Elevated view of a bicyclist dressed in light-colored clothes biking over the Shorewood Hills rustic bridge. Another bicycle is parked against the railing on the right. This is the Shorewood Hills rustic bridge, a picturesque highlight of Lake Mendota Drive. The Park and Pleasure Drive created the drive a decade earlier for scenic excursions in horse-drawn vehicles. To prevent trouble with the horses, early autos and carriages used the pleasure drive on different days. |
