Head and shoulders portrait of Warren Hicks taken on the day of his 100th birthday. The article states: "His biggest job began in 1912, when he supervised the establishment of 40 vocational schools in Wisconsin. He was Assistant State Superintendent of Schools until 1917, when he moved to Washington to help set up the newly created Internal Revenue Service. He returned to Madison in the 1920s to install a new accounting system for the Railroad Commission, now the Public Service Commission." |
