Western Canoe Association Members
Outdoor group portrait of Western Canoe Association members lounging in front of their tent camp. They are all wearing caps or hats. Near the center of the back row, one of them is wearing a cap and a kimono or bathrobe and holding a catcher's mitt. A man next to him appears to be wearing pajamas. On the ground in the front row the second man from the left is holding a baseball bat. Stanley C. Hanks was a member of this group. In a canoe sailing race to Picnic Point on July 13, 1894 for the Gardner and Longworth Cup Heats, Stanley Hanks won second place. |
