Caption on the bottom of the frame reads: "Luke: One of Willy Street's itinerant dwellers. He and his four friends beg or borrow money to buy a bottle for an afternoon of pleasure. Their favorite is Tequila. Luke spent 22 years in the Air Force but considers himself officially retired. You can tell a man by the firmness of his handshake, Luke says, and an artist is not an artist unless he can take a pencil and draw a portrait. 'What are you going to do with these pictures?' Luke asks. 'I haven't seen a picture of me in years. In fact, I don't even look in the mirrors so the only way I know what I look like is the reflection in the windows I pass on the street.'" |
