The postcard is stamped December 4th 1908 from Eagle, Wisconsin, and is addressed to A.W. Hinkley in Duluth, Minnesota. The note reads "My 'African Jungle' at Eagle. LDH" LDH most likely stands for Leonard D. Hinkley, the first born son of Ahira Rockwell Hinkley, who was the first white man to settle in Eagle, Wisconsin. |
