"We interrupt this President to bring you some facts on Central America" Poster | Poster | Wisconsin Historical Society
Social action poster opposing a speech by Ronald Reagan. Caption at top left above the article reads: "On May 9, 1984, Ronald Regan delivered a television speech about Central America. His address contained a series of assertions, most of which are contradicted by known and documented facts. With the United States on the brink of war in Central America, we feel that it is critical to correct the most blatant presidential misrepresentations — made not only in this speech but from the start of this administration. This is essential. Policies based on misrepresentations, and untruths put not only our nation's credibility in jeopardy, but our lives and the lives of thousands of Central Americans as well." The poster points out these issues within his speech and exposes the 'truth.' Includes a photograph of Ronald Reagan framed in the shape of a television screen.
