Madison grocer, Henry Ullsvik, wearing an apron, vest and neck tie. He is holding a small box of a frozen Norwegian fish called 'saithe' and a copy of a "Wisconsin State Journal" with a headline that states, "Madison Extends A Helping Hand to Norse Village." The news article details the plight of Norwegian Arctic fishermen, due to the disappearance of cod, and their hope that Americans would accept the saithe as a substitute. Also the Idun Lodge, Sons of Norway, 2262 Winnebago St., did use saithe for their annual lutefisk spring dinner. Grocer Henry Ullsvik usually sold 20 tons of lutefisk each year at his grocery store at 2350 E. Washington Ave.
