New Motor Boat
Covers have been pulled aside to reveal the new motor boat which sits in front of a large shed in Till Stuyvesant's yard in Lake Geneva. There is a large two-story frame house on the left. Snow is on the ground. The boat would later be Christened "Nepenthe" and served the residents of Black Point. |

Ernst Schmidt wrote a description of this photograph, which is included in an album he created. It reads, "Till Stuyvesant built this boat for us. Under the forward deck there is the gas tank and other supplies. Then comes the pilot house which takes one window, then the engine room which takes two windows and then the closed cabin which takes two windows and then the open cabin which takes three spaces." |
