A typed note attached to the back of the photograph reads: "Fifteen representatives of Rotary International, representing England, Belgium, New Zealand and Peru, were entertained July 2, in Kohler Village. A lawn luncheon and an open air concert presented by the Kohler Junior band at Riverbend, the home of Governor and Mrs. Walter J. Kohler, were high spots in the entertainment program arranged for the visitors. The Rotarians made the round trip from Madison in three monoplanes. Upon their arrival in Kohler they were conducted on an inspection trip through the Kohler factories, a visit through the Kohler showroom, and a motor tour through Kohler Village, including a stop at the Kohler Demonstration home. Nine members of the Sheboygan Rotary Club, of which Governor Kohler is a member, also were guests at the luncheon. This photograph shows the entire group assembled on the banks of the rock gardens at Riverbend. Governor and Mrs. Kohler are in the center of the front row and the Sheboygan Rotarians are in the back row." |
