The sailboat "Senta" competes in the Sheridan Prize Race at Geneva Lake. The "Senta" belonged to Dr. Otto L. Schmidt, who is the skipper here. He was an owner of Black Point Estate. Two crew members are also seen. The annual race was established in 1874 to honor Civil War General Philip Sheridan, who was visiting the area. The Geneva Lake Yacht Club (now the Lake Geneva Yacht Club), which sponsors the event, was established the same year.
DESCRIPTION
