The "Columbia" Steamboat at Bernard's Boat Landing
View down pier towards the "Columbia" steamboat at the boat landing. The shoreline is the the background. There are three or four people on the steamboat and another three or four hanging out on the dock. Two men are in a dinghy on the right. Charles Bernard built the "Columbia" in 1893, the second of three steamers that his family ran as two hour excursion boats. Bernard's Boathouse was located at 622 East Gorham Street on Lake Mendota. |
