Portrait of Elizabeth Hayman Layton reading a book. She was the sister of Joel Hayman, and the wife of Frederick Layton, who she married in 1851. Elizabeth Layton died in 1910 and Frederick Layton died in 1919. Mrs. Layton was responsible for the establishment of the Layton Home for Incurables (Invalids) about 1912. |
