Horace Griswold Bliss
Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of Horace Griswold Bliss sitting in a chair with his legs crossed, wearing a striped coat, striped vest, and striped tie. His right hand holds his lapel, and left hand is on trouser pocket. He was purported to be Madison's first pharmacist. Bliss moved to Madison in 1847 and operated Bliss Drug Store until 1849 when he sold his store and moved with his family to Jackson, Michigan. |
