Children at the Playhouse
Ernst Schmidt poses in the doorway of the playhouse on the grounds at Black Point Estate. He is wearing an exotic native American style costume adorned with feathers and small furs. Two women sit on either side of the upper step. The woman on the left is unidentified; on the right is Bertha Luehr, nanny to the Schmidt children. The children are, top step from left, Elsa Bartholomay, Alma Schmidt, Katherine (Kate) Bartholomay, unidentified. The children seated on the ground are, from left, Clara Theresa (Tessa) Schmidt, Henry Bartholomay, Fred Stauffer, and Allen Stauffer. There is a horse pull toy on each side of the children. The Bartholomay and Schmidt children were the grandchildren of Conrad and Catherine Seipp, who established Black Point Estate. |
