Empire Mower and Reaper
Lithograph of the Empire Mower and Reaper; several other reaper manufacturers and models are identified in the illustration which appears above the text: “Close of the Great National Field-Trial, Empire Mower and Reaper, Manufactured by J.F. Seiberling, Akron, Ohio. The other reapers and mowers in the drawings include: Advance, Buckeye, Champion, Dorsey, Eureka, Hubbard, Johnson, McCormick, D.M. Osborn and Co., Peerless, Royce, Standard, Walter A. Wood, and William Anson Wood. The two drivers of the Empire mowers have their hats raised in victory. Most losers are having serious trouble, horses are down, machinery is broken and one man has been decapitated. |
