Women and Girls
During her travels, Carrie wrote about the conditions of women in the area, including their literacy, social status, working conditions, and ownership rights. She visited many schools and women's societies to speak to women about these issues. Some of the women pictured are wearing the "voluminous" blouses described by Carrie in her journal from the Philippines. |
