Workers Painting International Truck Engine Blocks
Factory workers spray-painting truck engine blocks in a paint room of International Harvester's Indianapolis Truck Engine Works. Original caption reads: "DeVilbis water-wash type paint booths used for painting all engines. This is one of the most modern pieces of equipment in use for this purpose. It will be noted that the booths are staggered so that when an operator is spraying one side the other operator is out of direct line with the spray. All over-spray is removed from paint booths by a water-wash system that, by means of suction fans, draws the air through a veil of running water. Thus, the operators breathe only thoroughly cleaned air." |
